The Institute Archives and Special Collections is located on the 3rd floor of Folsom Library on the RPI Campus in Troy, NY.
Appointments must be scheduled with 24 hours advance notice – sorry, not the day of.
This space is available for research use by appointment only:
- Wednesdays from 9 am-12 pm, and 1 pm-4 pm
- Thursdays from 9 am-12 pm
Appointments are required to visit the Archives; we cannot accommodate unscheduled researchers in our reading room, and staff are not always available during normal reading room hours when no researchers are scheduled. Most of our collections must be retrieved from closed stacks or offsite storage, so we encourage all researchers to make appointments as far in advance as possible to ensure reading room service and to make the best use of their visit.
Archives welcomes researchers to:
- Review the Collections Guides before their research appointment
- Identify collections for use in the Archives reading room
- Perform their own research
All researchers must agree to the Access and Use Policies. Researchers working in the reading room who would like to take photographs of materials for personal use, must review the Reading Room Camera Use Policy.
