Group study rooms can be reserved online in advance or on a walk-in basis at the Service Desk.
These larger study rooms in Folsom Library can accommodate groups. They are intended for groups of two or more RPI students working together on class projects and not for individual use or TA's holding office hours.
How to reserve a room in advance
- Locate your preferred date and time on the grid below. Available rooms will be indicated in a light purple color. Use the "Go To Date" button if needed.
- Select the time you want your reservation to start. A box will appear below the grid, indicating your chosen start time, followed by a drop-down menu with possible end times.
- The reservation default/limit is a 3-hour slot, depending on availability. To shorten your reservation, select an earlier end time.
- The trash can icon next to the drop-down menu will delete your current selection.
- Click the "Submit Times" button to complete your reservation, and check your email for a confirmation.
How to check in for your reservation
- Within the first 15 minutes of the reservation, both students who are listed on the reservation form must stop by the Folsom Library Service Desk and notify library staff that they have a group study room reservation.
- When both students are present, library staff will provide the room key, and hold their RPI IDs for the duration of the reservation.
- Library staff will cancel the reservation after fifteen minutes so other students can use the space.
